Keeping House
Welcome to Keeping House, where the Domestic Daemon wages a never-ending battle against dust, clutter, laundry and the peculiar tendency of household objects to disappear just when they’re needed.
Here you’ll find tales of domestic triumphs, spectacular failures, cleaning frenzies and ingenious shortcuts that occasionally create more work than they save. I firmly believe that a home should be lived in, not preserved for inspection, although there are moments when I suspect the dust bunnies are planning a takeover.
Housekeeping, after all, is not about achieving perfection. It’s about maintaining a reasonable degree of civilisation while still having time to put your feet up and enjoy a cup of tea.
And if all else fails, shut the door and pretend you haven’t noticed.
